Jason P. Acker, PhD Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada
ATP-Bio congratulates Dr. Jason Acker on his election as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in recognition of his contributions to transfusion sciences and cryobiology.
Dr. Acker, an internationally recognized leader in transfusion sciences and cryobiology, is a valued member of both the NSF ATP-Bio Scientific Advisory Board and Industrial Advisory Board. He is a professor at the University of Alberta and President and CEO of PanTHERA CryoSolutions.
The Royal Society of Canada’s 2026 citation recognizes Dr. Acker’s innovative research into the mechanisms of low-temperature injury and its impact on the preservation of cell-based therapeutics. It also highlights his contributions to advancing the safety and quality of blood products worldwide and his service to the transfusion medicine, cell therapy and biobanking industries.
Dr. Acker’s expertise in cryopreservation and biological preservation closely aligns with ATP-Bio’s mission to advance technologies that enable the preservation of cells, tissues and organs. Through his service on both advisory boards, he brings valuable scientific, clinical and industry perspectives to ATP-Bio’s research and translational efforts.
