Congratulations to Toni Perkins, PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), on receiving the Student Best Poster Award at CRYO2026, the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Cryobiology, held July 15–17, 2026, in Seattle, Washington.
Toni’s award-winning poster, “Vitrification and Rewarming of Hepatocyte Spheroids Using a Rapid Conduction Device for Regenerative Medicine Applications,” highlights innovative research advancing biopreservation technologies for regenerative medicine.
The work represents a collaborative effort among researchers from UNC Charlotte, the University of Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic. Co-authors include Madelyn Fontaine, Austin Heft, Michael Megaly, Diane Tobolt, Scott Nyberg, Michael Etheridge, John Bischof, Erik Finger, Mark Clemens, and Charles Y. Lee.
