ATP-Bio Public Webinar Series: Dr. Robert Thorne

NSF ATP-Bio Public Webinar Series

presents:

ICE FORMATION AND ITS ELIMINATION IN CRYOPRESERVATION OF MAMMALIAN OOCYTES AND EMBRYOS

Robert Thorne, Ph.D

Department of Physics, Cornell University
Chairman/CTO/Founder, MiTenGen LLC

In working on problems that arise in determining biomolecular structure/function using X-rays and electrons, Dr. Thorne’s Cornell group and company developed physical insight, tools, and instrumentation relevant to detecting, quantifying and eliminating ice formation.

“We are eager to form collaborations to evaluate and evolve these tools and methods for vitrification-based cryopreservation”
