ATP-Bio Leader Rhonda Franklin Receives National Mentoring Award

ATP-Bio proudly congratulates Rhonda Franklin on being named recipient of the 2026 Rudolf Henning Distinguished Mentoring Award.

Honing the legacy of Rudolf Henning, a visionary research leader at Hughes Research Laboratories and later professor at the University of South Florida, this award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to mentoring students and young engineers, particularly within RF, Microwave, and Wireless Engineering.

The honor reflects Dr. Franklin’s longstanding dedication to guiding, supporting, and empowering emerging engineers throughout her career, as well as her outstanding contributions to advancing the next generation of engineering leaders.

In addition to her leadership role within ATP-Bio as Integration Director and EWD Pillar Director, Dr. Franklin is a McKnight Presidential Endowed Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her impact spans research, education, and mentorship—helping shape the next generation of technical leaders.
